Sensio is pleased to announce that from September 2013, it will have its own dedicated Product Design and Development Department in-house at its new premises in Castleford, West Yorkshire.

For the first time since Sensio first started trading, the company is placing a strong emphasis on developing exclusive products internally within the UK, setting it apart from its competitors. To accommodate this exciting initiative the company has already employed its first designer to work within its Product Design and Development Department, Darcey Wood.

In 2012, Sensio became an official partner of the Electrical Engineering and Product Design Department at the University of Leeds. Sensio provided two students, one of these being Darcey, with a three month internship where they worked on designing innovative new products for the brand. Since having completed her internship and proving her skill and ability when it comes to developing new products, Sensio has offered Darcey a full-time position within its new Product Design and Development Department.

Michael Linsky, Managing Director, Sensio has said,

“Sensio is growing from strength to strength and I believe this is partly down to grabbing opportunities with both hands when you see them and exploring new initiatives which allow you to progress. Having an internal Product Design and Development Department has always been something that I have been keen to enforce and now is the ideal time to bring designing our products in-house.

“Darcey made a real impression when she carried out her internship with Sensio and we are delighted to have her on board as a permanent member of the team. I feel confident that she is going to create some fantastic designs for us, which will really help to differentiate Sensio from the rest of the market.”
