Product FAQs

What do I need to run the flexible strip?

For each run of the flexible strip you will need a 2.5m driver connection lead and a driver with an adequate wattage to run the specified amount of flexible strip lighting.

How many HD flexible strips can be run from one driver?

A maximum length of 6.66m can currently be run from one 50W LED driver (SE40557).

How does the mini cut connector work?

A flexible strip can be cut ONCE (the points at which it is safe to cut are indicated on the strip by scissor marks). The cut end of the strip can then be reconnected to another strip or a new run can be stated. To do this you require the cut connector (see accessories below).

Can I run flexible strip lighting under a dishwasher?

The flexible strip itself cannot be run along/under the dishwasher, we supply extension cables for the flexible strips which would need to be interlinked and run around the back of the dishwasher to not break the run of strips.

Why are my lights flashing?

This can be caused by one of many things; 1. The lights are running from a driver of an incorrect voltage. 2. The fitting has been wired to an incompatible dimmer. 3. You have overloaded your LED driver. Please calculate the wattage of the connected lights and ensure this does not exceed the total wattage allowance of the connected driver.

Can I bend the flexible strip on a corner?

No, the flexible strip cannot be bent on a corner, to get around corners you should use the 50mm corner connection cable.

If I cut the flexible strip will the wattage remain the same?

No, the wattage of the strip would be reduced by how much is cut off (how many LED's). For example if a 2m strip has a wattage of 15W and 1m is cut off the wattage of the 2m strip will reduce to 7.5W.

One end of the flexible strip appears to be blank.

The male end of every flexible strip is supplied with an end cap covering the pins to protect them. For interlinking and connecting to the driver connection cable this end cap must be removed.

Selecting the right driver

Divide the wattage of the driver by the wattage of a single light to determine how many lights can be run by the driver.

For example, 15W driver with 3W lights
15 ÷ 3 = 5 lights

Drivers are available in more than one wattage, work out the best option based on the number of lights you have.

Drivers have a limited number of ports. A driver with 6 ports is therefore limited to a maximum of 6 lights.

Ensure you consider both the wattage and number of ports on the driver.

Connecting by Colour

To simplify the process of selecting the appropriate driver for your lighting, Sensio use a simple colour coding system.
