G9 light bulbs are a mains voltage lamp that does not need a transformer, and they are fully dimmable on a domestic dimmer switch.

G9 bulbs can give up to 2000 hours of light, twice the life of a candle bulb that gives out 1000 hours of light. On average, compared to candle lamps, the halogen G9 lamp emits 25% more light than a similar wattage candle lamp.

This type of bulb contains lower pressure gas making it safe to use in unshielded light fittings. There are no restrictions on their burning position, meaning they can be operated at any angle
